In September 2010 OAM Sports Academy took 15 boys from the Sports Academy on the trip of a lifetime to participate in a football tour to Northern Ireland.

The tour was sponsored by the Sports Trust in South Africa and the participating schools an churches from Northern Ireland.

The boys were involved in assemblies and lessons at numerous schools throughout the country and played matches against the football teams after spending the day visiting the school. The boys were unbeaten throughout their tour and even managed to win a tournament held at Ashfield boys school in Belfast.

The team also had opportunities to take in the local culture and sights. They were guests of honour at an Ulster rugby match and got to meet with the South African rugby stars who now play at Ulster.

The trip was a massive success and the boys touched the hearts of everyone they met. They were a credit to OAM Sports Academy and to South Africa. We now have links with many schools and churches in Northern Ireland who support the work of the Sports Academy in George.
